December Curriculum Activities: Sol in Wonderland!

“Abra-Cadabra, Hocus-Pocus, Alakazam! With a wave of my wand, here's the plan!”

This month, we will explore our superpowers through magical activities! The children will become familiar with their own and each other's super strengths and use those in a magical exploration. During the monthly project, our lively learners will determine their super strengths and create a super strength talent show!

Kindergarten Enrollment

We are very excited to announce that we will be offering second grade starting in the fall of 2025 with plans to add one grade level each school year! If your child is currently enrolled in our elementary school program, you will be receiving information regarding re-enrollment soon.

You may use the button link below to enroll for Kindergarten for fall of 2025. Please, note that to enroll in our Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by Sept 30, 2025. However, we are able to make exceptions on a case by case basis.

Reunification Drill This Friday!

Reunification Drill - Fri, Dec 6, 2024 at 4:30 pm (regular dismissal time). If your child is in extended care, you can still pick him/her up after 4:30 pm.

A reunification procedure is used when it is necessary to release students directly to their parent, guardian, or designated emergency contact due to an emergency situation that prevents a normal dismissal, such as a fire, a natural disaster (tornado), or violence in the surroundings.

A planned & practiced reunification plan via an annual drill ensures the reunification process will run smoothly and not further complicate what is probably already a chaotic, anxiety-filled situation.  It will allow our staff to become more familiar with a car line dismissal (annual drill) or hand-off dismissal in the case that the reunification needs to take place in a location outside of the school (not included in drill).  The reunification drill will proceed as follows:

1. Car Line Dismissal: Starting at 4:30 pm, our staff and teachers will obtain a completed reunification form (not included in drill) from you or your authorized pick-up person and confirm your identity with a photo ID.  Staff will use hand-held radios to communicate your arrival and another member of our staff will obtain your child from the school and bring them out to your vehicle.  The school next door (Haven Academy) is not open after 1 pm so they will not have their own car line during our drill.  

2. Please, allow for extra time as it will only be the second time our staff are running a car line, and we are likely to experience delays.  We are not certain how long the drill will take, so you will not be asked to complete a late pick-up form on this day, unless you arrive after the drill is over and your child is not enrolled in our aftercare/extended care program.

3. If you do not wish to participate in the drill, you can pick-up your child before 4 pm. 

4. If your child is in our extended care program, you can pick-up during the drill or after it is over.  We are not certain how long the drill will take.
